Xiaomi Amazfit smartwatch
Finally, the Xiaomi smartwatch is here! This Chinese tech giant has debuted its adult smartwatch with all the features you would want. If you recall, Xiaomi unveiled a kids smartwatch earlier this year named Bunny; you too can now relish in this stylish wearable featuring 28nm GPS sensor. If that doesn’t really matter to you, you’ll be happy it has a built-in GPS, allowing you to leave your bulky smartphone at home!
Size and processing power
At 1.34 inches in diameter, the watch ha a resolution of 300×300. The heart rate monitor constantly tracks every beat. With its IP67 certification, the Android-compatible is able to work well in the presence of dust, water and sweat. Topping this off is its ceramic bezel that is scuff and scratch-proof.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor complemented by 512MB RAM and an astounding 4GB internal storage space. Its battery will capably handle all this for five days on a single charge; with the GPS turned on, you only have 35 hours of battery life.
Apart from receiving notifications, you get to receive mobile payments through AliPay. To run on Android devices, you will be required to download the Mii fit app in the absence of which the smartwatch only runs on its custom OS.
Sony FES Watch U
Just like its predecessor, this new release by Sony isn’t a fully dedicated smartwatch but rather comes out as a connected watch cum a customizable bracelet; you get to frequently change its watch face and straps.though no extra functions have been added, you will get access to more designs, all of which are strictly monochrome. This can be done through your smartphone or the companion app.
Currently compatible with iOS
This is definitely odd but word has it that Sony is in the process of making this smartwatch compatible with Android. With an impressive battery life of 3 weeks, the watch stores 24 designs which clearly presents it as a fashion item. It’s not certain whether its sale will extend beyond Japan.
Skagen Hagen Connected
Due to be unleashed at IFA before launch in September, this smartwatch intermarries the design aspect of Skagen and the legendary experience of the Fossil Group, its parent company. It will be available in 4 distinctive styles all of which will feature a leather strap; this may, however, be switched with silicone bands or steel mesh. It requires no charging as its coin battery powers everything.
This smartwatch features tracking technology developed by Misfit to calculate your steps, the progress of which is shown in a built-in display. Compatible with both iOS and Android, it gives a buzz whenever notifications are streaming in.
This smartwatch goes a step further and rings your phone, takes a photo, tracks your goals and controls your music; pretty amazing! It also auto-updates in different time zones as well as sets up alarms in dual-time.
This standalone smartwatch was announced December of 2015 on Indiegogo; having been successfully funded, the company now offers you its limited edition smartwatch that’s comes featuring Amazon Echo’s Alexa. It will be available for pre-ordering for a short window between 1st and 3rd September.
Don’t panic, there’s more than just the limited edition
The limited edition is specifically for those who missed out on the initial Rise watches. If you already own an Omate Rise Beta Tester, you’ll be receiving a software upgrade for accessing Alexa. Being 3G enabled, this new smartwatch allows you to control smart devices at home while asking Alexa questions and receiving replies in real time. Just press, hold, talk and finally release; no need to say Alexa’ at the beginning of each question. Alexa’s ability is simply boundless.
